Supply Chain Manager (SCM) Role Description
The supply chain for our client is extensive and varied. It includes their single source contract supplier, multiple permanent recruitment agencies and various engineering organisations both large and small.
Responsible to the Head of Engineering, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the development of a robust, capable, approved and responsive supply chain that can help deliver the objectives of Engineering Services in 2009. These includes managing the assessment, down-selection and development of a number of firstly UK (and subsequently international) suppliers if/where appropriate.
The SCM will be responsible for the following activities in order to support the growth objectives and delivery requirements of our business.
Supply Chain Development
Identify potential suppliers and co-ordinate engagement through the Quality Management System process
Develop supply chain partnerships to deliver growth in all business areas
Work with our Engineering and Manufacturing partners to define an appropriate Supplier Evaluation and Feedback process.
Drive the performance of the suppliers against preordained project schedules and milestones
Develop the Partnership Strategy
Develop supply chain initiatives to ensure value through performance of our suppliers.
Supply Chain Management
Co-ordinate resource capacity and capability reporting, responding to business requests for support to existing project teams and development of new opportunities
Manage interface with the Commercial department to ensure that the appropriate terms and conditions are in place with each supplier
Co-ordinate resource requirements and co-ordinate/balance recruitment with supply chain opportunities
Work with teams for supplier alignment and subsequent distribution of work.
Supply Chain Performance
Define a simple yet robust set of KPIs by which to measure the Suppliers and maintain/report on a monthly basis.
Manage delivery of the supply chain into the project teams
Manage delivery and quality issues in conjunction with relevant engineering teams
